Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMILENA (MILLIE) KARLIK November 17, 1907 - December 21, 2005 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her son Gene, his wife Donna and her two grandchildren, Melanie and Jodon. She was predeceased by her husband Joe (Josef) in 1978 and by her sister Mollie (Amalia) Ilavsky and her brother Jerry (Jaroslav) Andres and a sister that died in infancy. Millie was born in Michalovka, Volyn, Russia and immigrated to the Swan Valley, MB with her family in 1929. She met her husband while visiting Regina, SK and married there in 1943. In 1946 they returned with their son Gene to the Swan Valley and made their home in Minitonas where her husband set up a small watch repair and jewellery business. Her strong sense of family, good humour, understanding nature and great cooking made the home in Minitonas the focal point where her sister and brothers and their families met throughout the years to celebrate holidays and enjoy each other's company. After the passing of her husband she moved to Winnipeg where she kept busy crocheting, weaving rugs, and visiting with her family and friends both old and new. With the birth of her two grandchildren they became the centre of her life. Her big heart, kindness, generosity and unselfishness resulted in a strong bond. She spent the last year and one half in the St. Norbert Personal Care Home in the company of a kind and caring staff. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
